Half-hourly metering for business customers, under the P272 legislation, has been delayed by a year to April 2017 after Npower requested a modification to how sites are migrated to half-hourly settlement.
Npower has expressed concern over the lack of co-ordination with regard to the rollout of domestic smart meters, Nexus gas system and half-hourly metering for businesses.
They are worried that customers have not been well advised of the upcoming changes saying:
“Customers need to feel like they understand all of this, be that business customers or domestic customers and that they know what’s going to happen, and what the division is and how it’s going to all come together and work.”
This explains the year extension with regard to P272 legislation, now P322. Npower said it raised the modification as it had concerns an April 2016 deadline would have an “adverse impact on consumers, competition and Balancing and Settlement Code governance.”
